BadTaxi - A Bad Taxi database and a Route Distance Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

If youve ever been overcharged or had a bad experience with a taxi and wanted to report it then this is the App for you.

The app allows you to check and report BadTaxis and can also track the distance you have traveled.
It cannot tell you the fare however because there are just too many rate cards in the world, but you can use the distance tracked to compare with what the taxi reported. (some taxi drivers tamper their meter to count distance faster and hence charge more)

The service is based on a simple strategy:
1> When you report a taxi, the taxi gets marked as a BadTaxi for that entire day.
2> The same taxi cannot be reported again in 24hrs.
3> If you felt so strongly about the bad experience that you reported it again after 24hrs, then the taxi most likely deserved the second report.
4> We only report bad days for the past 90 days. This way the taxi driver can improve his/her score if there are no reports.
5> The one report every 24hrs rule is to prevent spam/vengeance attacks against taxi drivers.

The distance reported by the App should generally be within 5% of what a good taxi will report.
This margin could be more if you traveled through tunnels, buildings or had your iPhone in bag or a glove box. Please use your best judgement in these scenarios.
If the App detects that its in a place where GPS signals are weak, like a building or a glovebox, then it will alert you. It will also alert you when things are back to normal.
